The Regular Quarterly Meeting of the Board of Directors of the Potter-Tioga
Library System was called to order by President Jeff Wilkinson at 7 PM.

System Librarian: Laurie Shear
After introductions, the Minutes of the July 10, 2007, meeting were approved as
Laurie reported that state aid for 2008 would be distributed at the same level
as 2003, with an increase for each library in the state of $393. In 2007 Potter
Co. received $40,000, an increase of $5,000 over what they had budgeted; Tioga
Co. received $64,000, an increase of $9,800 over what they had budgeted. Tioga
Co. Commissioners budgeted $75,000 for 2008.
The 2008 System Budget was presented by the Budget Committee. After review and
discussion Eugene Seelye moved for its adoption, seconded by Danice Trindell and
carried. Thanks were extended to the committee for its work.
System Librarianís Report:
-Circulation statistics for the 2nd quarter 2007 were circulated and reviewed.
-2007 System Financial Summaries were circulated and reviewed.
-The LSTA Automation grants are completed at the five libraries involved.
-Statewide Library Card reimbursement statistics were circulated and reviewed.
-The DCED grant from Senator Scarnatti for Potter Co. libraries and the system
library has not yet been received.
-All libraries must meet state standards in 2008. Blossburg, Knoxville and
Shinglehouse will have to increase weekend hours to 7. The system library
(Coudersport) will have to add 5 more hours per week. Each library has to make
sure its library materials budget is 12% of the total expenses and in 2008
increase it by .3%.
News from member libraries was shared.
The next meeting will be in Wellsboro, Saturday, January 12, 2008, at 10 AM.
